Sebi today disposed of two cases of alleged violation of insider trading norms against Shreekant Javalgekar and his wife Asha with regard to the shares of MCX and FTIL.
Sebi disposed of show cause notices against four former officials of MCX as alleged violation of insider trading rules by them could not be established.
The Bombay HC dismissed a petition filed by the erstwhile FTIL challenging a 2016 decision of the Union govt ordering its merger with its subsidiary, NSEL.
Sebi will defreeze the bank accounts of Anjani Sinha and Joseph Massey which were frozen by the regulator in an alleged insider trading case.
Sebi impounded averted losses totalling Rs 125 crore through alleged insider trading in MCX and its erstwhile promoter FTIL by 13 persons.
National Spot Exchange (NSEL) has urged Sebi to resolve the Rs 5,600-crore payment crisis in the larger interest of investors.
Sebi said it has issued fresh notices to some brokers for their alleged involvement in the Rs 5,600 crore NSEL scam.
